Crop Production :: Cereals :: Rice :: Wet Seeded Rice

Nutrient Management

  • For direct wet seeded lowland rice, the recommendation is same as that of transplanted rice.

  • In Cauvery Delta Zone, the recommendation is 125:50:50 kg N:P2O5:K2O /ha along with ZnSO4 @25 kg/ha.

  • Apply N and K in four equal splits at 21 days after sowing, active tillering, panicle initiation and heading stages.

  • If  N applied through Leaf Color Chart (LCC), use the critical value 3 for broadcasted and 4 for line sown drill seeded rice.

  • Entire P applied as basal in the last plough or at the time of incorporation of green manure/ compost.

  • Biofertilizers as recommended to transplanted rice may be followed wherever feasible and moisture available.

  • Micronutrients, foliar application and biofertlizers (seed treatment and soil application) as that of transplanted rice.
