In the heart of Periyanaickanpalayam block, where tradition and innovation intertwine, one farmer stands out amidst the vast green landscapes. On a modest plot of 12 cents, he has dared to plant something truly unique: passion fruit. Surrounded by the vibrant spikes of dragon fruit, which circle his passion fruit plants like loyal guardians, his farm is a symbol of bold experimentation. His farm is more than just a field; it's a statement. As the only farmer in Periyanaickanpalayam growing passion fruit, he has carved out a niche for himself, one filled with curiosity and admiration from fellow farmers and villagers alike.

In a small yet vibrant corner of his farm, he has embarked on an extraordinary agricultural journey. On just 11 cents of land, he has planted a rare and precious crop—Black Turmeric. Using 100 kilograms of rhizomes, he has transformed his field into a unique haven of this mystical plant, which stands out for both its striking appearance and its potent medicinal properties.

Unlike the familiar orange turmeric that dots most fields, Black Turmeric is a marvel of nature. Its flesh, a deep bluish-purple, is as captivating as it is powerful. Packed with the highest concentration of curcumin, this rare variety of turmeric is a natural powerhouse, offering unparalleled anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits. The roots of Black Turmeric, revered in traditional medicine, hold immense healing potential, making this crop not just a farmer’s pride but a treasure trove of health.

In a region where Black Turmeric is almost unheard of, his farm is the only one cultivating this remarkable plant. This bold choice sets him apart, turning his field into a symbol of innovation and courage.

In a serene corner of Periyanaickanpalayam, where agriculture and animal husbandry blend seamlessly, he has meticulously designed a haven for his livestock. His goats and buffaloes enjoy the comfort of thoughtfully crafted shelters, each tailored to their unique needs, ensuring they thrive in a nurturing environment.

The goats are housed in an elevated shed, designed to keep them dry and safe, allowing them to rest comfortably above the ground. This elevation not only protects them from the dampness of the earth but also ensures proper ventilation, promoting their health and well-being. Nearby, the buffaloes rest under the shade of their own well-structured shed, a sturdy sanctuary that provides them with a cool, secure retreat from the elements.

Surrounding these shelters is a lush expanse of Mambaza grass, planted specifically to nourish the animals. This short Napier variety, known for its rich, leafy growth, serves as a perfect fodder crop. The grass, thriving in the shade, offers a steady supply of nutritious feed, ensuring that the livestock remain healthy and robust.
