ORGANIC FARMING
Ponmani farms of in Chithirachavadi, Thondamuthur is a completely organic farm which is giving higher yield of crops when compared to his inorganic farm. He mainly focuses on cultivating crops organically and carrying out various innovative activities in his field and also involved in marketing and value addition process. He also says that the pest and disease management is also easily carried out in his field.

APICULTURE UNIT:

The farm consists of apiculture unit for honey production which gives an yield of about 24 Kgs per year. He says that bees in the apiculture unit play a crucial role in pollinating crops, thereby enhancing agricultural productivity.
The extracted honey is sold in the market.
ORGANIC INPUTS

INNOVATIVE MACHINARIES USED:
1.JEEVAMRITHAM PREPARINF MACHINE:
Mixing Tank:
• A large, food-grade container made of stainless steel or durable plastic.
• Equipped with an agitator or paddle mixer to thoroughly combine the ingredients.
Motor and Agitator:
• A motorized system that drives the agitator to ensure uniform mixing of the components.
• Variable speed settings available to adjust the mixing intensity.
Input Ports:
• Separate inlets for adding cow dung, cow urine, jaggery, pulse flour, and soil.
• Each inlet might have a measuring system for accurate ingredient proportions.
Water Supply:
• A water inlet connected to a hose or water tank, with a flow control valve to regulate the water quantity.
• Helps achieve the correct consistency of the Jeevamritham.
Filtration System:
• A basic filtration system to remove large particles, ensuring the liquid is well-mixed and homogenous.
• Optional mesh or sieve can be included to filter out unwanted debris.
The pipes are directly connected to the field and it supplies Jeevamritham to all the crops in the field automatically thereby reducing the labour demand.
2.COCOA POD BREAKING MACHINE:
Here the cocoa is heated and the pods are removed, the collected seeds kept warm for 3 weeks and later it is dried.
