Sevvazhai: Syn: Red Banana
This variety has a free suckering habit grown in Kanyakumari district. The colour of the pseudo stem, petiole, mid rib and fruit rind is purplish red. The fruit is of good size, slightly curved with a blunt apex. The bunch weight is alone 20-25 kg with over 100 fruits. It is a long duration variety and takes about 18 months from planting to harvest.
