• Grown in Thenkanikottai taluk of  Krishnagiri district
• 120-125 days and Late samba and Navarai (Summer) variety
• Transplanting method is used for cultivation
• The rice is red in colour and coarse in texture
• Grains of this variety have a tough seed coat. So the grains do not germinate even if there is heavy rainfall at the time of harvest
• Resistant to storage pest because of the hard seed coat
